Acharya Lokesh Muni Meets US Prez Biden, Suggests ‘Peace Education’ to Address Gun Violence

Jain Acharya Lokesh Muni traveled to the United States on Saturday and met with President Joe Biden. During his visit to America, he offered “peace education” to the president in order to combat gun violence.

Acharya Lokesh spoke about this discussion between the Indian saint and the world’s top leaders that a powerful country like America is currently facing the problem of gun violence. Acharya Shri said that listening to Joe Biden, the President of the United States in Los Angeles felt that the US President was serious about solving the problem, maybe he was thinking about banning automatic weapons. He asked the US President that until the root cause is identified to fix the problem, results would not be possible.

“The problem is not just guns, the problem is with that mindset, the real solution is to train that mindset inside our brains. Our modern education system only works ‘to awaken the left hemisphere which is responsible for intelligence, mathematics, reasoning, but the right hemisphere which is responsible for intuition is not taken into account.Every time the animal’s brain is awake, the person engages in activities like violence,” he said.

Recently a student from Texas shot half a dozen people, and a few years ago a student from the University of Virginia shot three dozen people. He said that to form this spirit, programs like “education for peace” must be introduced into the education system from the primary education itself.

Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni is a thinker, writer, poet and social reformer and has made efforts to enhance national character, develop human values ​​and establish non-violence, peace and mutual cooperation in Indian society over the past 32 years.

He walked about 20,000 kilometers across India to promote the elimination of social ills and spread values. In order to concretize these values, he founded “Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti”.

With the creation of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti, he launched a powerful movement against social evils like abortion of girls, drug addiction, environmental pollution, etc.

Acharya Lokesh suggested during a discussion with the US President that there is a need for brain training. He introduced “education for peace” with primary education so that good individuals and a society could be built.

He said that today good doctors, lawyers, engineers become education based on values, peace education is necessary to build a good human being and it must be implemented from primary education because man does not change only by teaching, but in principle, he changes by experience, we must introduce these programs based on experience.
