The annual event that honors the city’s unsung heroes is once again held virtually

The Now-Leader invites you to watch how we recognize Surrey’s ‘unsung heroes’ in the 2021 Community Leader Awards.

The awards recognize those who do not seek recognition but continue to give back to the community.

Via video (see above), we unveil this year’s winners in nine categories, including Coach of the Year, Teacher of the Year, Emergency Services, Young Volunteer of the Year, Volunteer of the Year , Environmental Leader, Community Builder, Above and Beyond and Leader of the Year.

This year, there were over 100 nominations in the nine categories.

You can read about all of the recipients in this week’s issue of Now-Leader. If you don’t want to wait for our article to arrive at your doorstep, come back to surreynowleader.com tomorrow and click on “E-editions” to find our CLA 2021 section.

Tonight’s awards also feature a message from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. They are hosted by the Now-Leaderby Beau Simpson and Dal Hothi.

You can follow us on Twitter here as we share acceptance videos of tonight’s winners.
