Watford Muslim youth help raise thousands in charity football marathon

Young Muslims helped raise over £ 11,000 for Watford FC Community Trust and Railway Children charities which display the true teachings of Islam.

Young Muslims in Watford, Hertfordshire have partnered with the Watford FC Community Trust and the Railway Children to organize a 24-hour charity football marathon to raise funds for national and international Covid-19 relief efforts.

Among those who attended were Watford MP Dean Russell and former England player Luther Blissett.

Every pound raised through the event will provide immediate help and support in the form of emergency supplies, medicine and care. The charity aims to ensure that no child is left behind as the world begins to recover from the pandemic.

Railway Children Fundraiser Jack Miller said: “We are absolutely delighted to partner with Watford CSE Trust and AMYA (Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association) on this event.

“It shows the impact we can have when we work together. The money raised through this event will support some of the most vulnerable children in the UK and India whose lives were made even more difficult during the pandemic.”

The event, which was open to everyone, had specific time slots for different age groups, disabled football groups, women’s and men’s teams. thirty teams that participated.
